Most cheap websites come out of the same builder, with the same structure and the same speed problems. Here is the difference, laid out honestly.
All the websites below are examples I built myself for invented companies. They are not real businesses, because the names, addresses, prices, texts and images are all fictional and exist only to show what is possible.
They are here so you can choose: "that is the style I want", "I need that booking module", "that search is exactly what I am looking for". You never get a copy of a demo, because your site is rebuilt around your business. Just tell me which feature, style or extra you have in mind. The demos themselves are in Dutch, except Vallée Verte, which is fully trilingual.
Every demo has its own atmosphere and its own signature feature: a booking module, a search with filters, a shopping cart or a before/after slider. Click through and try everything, because every button works.
CadansMy showpiece. As you scroll, a skeletonised movement assembles itself, part by part, until it ticks the real time inside its tonneau case. After that comes the whole collection, five cases drawn by the same engine, and you build your own.

Maerdijk GroupA large company that sells nothing through its site, it only impresses. The water moves with your scrolling speed, halfway down it washes over you and you end up underneath it, with a turning globe and a fleet board that updates itself.

View demoThe cover photos above are real trade photos, freely usable images that show which sector a demo belongs to. They never show an existing business, because that would suggest I built that site.
The images inside the demos themselves are artistic renders, because those businesses do not exist and there are no photos of them. They are abstract compositions I generated myself to show mood, colour and structure, not to depict a real business.
For your website it works differently, because you simply send me your own photos, as many as you like and in any format. I crop them, optimise them for the web and put them in the right place. No good photos yet? We start with mood images or freely usable material and swap them out as soon as your own photos are ready.
And a lot more. This is what gets asked for most often, so if your idea is not listed, just ask.

Any language is possible. My standard offer covers Dutch, French and English, because I write and check those three myself, with a language switch at the top that lets your visitor change without leaving the page. Multilingual is included from the Business package onwards.
Want German, Spanish, Italian, Polish or another language? That is possible as an option. You supply the translated texts or have them translated, and I build them in fully with the right language settings so Google picks up each version separately.
A quote calculator, a members area, a blog, a link to your booking or till system, or something not listed here at all? Tell me. I look honestly at whether I can build it, what it costs and how long it takes, and if something is not feasible or not sensible for your business, I say so straight away instead of promising it.

Package chooser
Tick what your site needs to do. The price adds up live, and I tell you honestly which package is enough, even when that is the cheapest one.
It runs during the build of your website and during the go-live, which is exactly when you have questions. You get my number at the start of your project and an answer within 24 hours.
It is not an ongoing maintenance subscription. I do not work with subscription formulas, because once your site is online it is yours and you pay me nothing more. If you do want changes later, I charge my hourly rate of €55 per hour, or you choose an upgrade from the table below.
What is not included: your domain name (± €15/year) and hosting (free up to about €5/month) are paid directly to the provider, so everything stays in your name. Texts and photos are supplied by you. Forms send requests to your inbox, and a web shop with real online payments runs through an external payment partner such as Mollie or Stripe, which charges a small percentage per transaction itself.
You do not have to take the largest package straight away. These options can be added to any package, and if your business grows you can always upgrade later.

Once I have built your website you can come back at any time for a bigger package. You then pay the difference plus the rework, because extending an existing site takes more work than setting it up properly straight away.

Choosing the right package straight away is therefore always cheaper, because upgrading afterwards costs you €90 to €120 extra. Not sure which package suits your business? Just ask, and I will tell you honestly which one is enough instead of talking you into the most expensive one.

It explains how to put your site online and how to get your features working, from your contact form to your payment link. In Dutch, French or English.

Buy a domain name, choose hosting (it can be free), upload the files, connect the domain. With the guide beside you it takes half an hour.
With Premium you can reach me on WhatsApp until your site is online.

I design and build websites myself, from the first design to the file you put online. No team where your question gets lost and no account manager who has to pass everything on, because you always speak directly to the person who actually makes your site.
I approach a website the way an engineer approaches a problem: first work out exactly what a visitor needs to be able to do, whether that is call, book, order or find the way, and only then build. Everything is written by hand in HTML, CSS and JavaScript. That is more work than installing a template, but it produces a site that loads in a second, is not weighed down by plugins that age, and does exactly what you need instead of whatever a theme happens to offer.
I also like clarity: a fixed price agreed in advance, no subscription that keeps running, and an honest answer when something is not feasible or not sensible for your business. I would rather have a customer who knows exactly where they stand than a sold project that disappoints afterwards.

What I collect, and why. Only what you type into the quote form yourself: your name, the name of your business, your e-mail address, your phone number if you fill it in, and your message. I use that data to answer your question and to give you a price. I send no newsletter and I sell your data to no one.
How long I keep it. Your message stays in my mailbox as long as it is useful to follow up your question, and two years at most. If you become a client, I keep what the law requires me to keep for my accounts, which is seven years.
Who else sees it. The form is processed by Netlify, my hosting partner. Your submission therefore passes through Netlify servers, which may also sit outside the European Union. Netlify processes that data only on my instructions, under the conditions the European Commission provides for this.
Typefaces. This page loads its typeface from Google Fonts. Google therefore sees your IP address at the moment you open the page. If you would rather it did not, your browser can block that and the page keeps working. For clients who prefer to avoid it, I put the typeface inside the file itself, after which no external reference is left at all.
Cookies. This site sets no cookies, keeps nothing in your browser and does not measure your visit. That is why you see no banner here that you have to click away.
What you can ask. You may ask at any time which data I hold about you, have it corrected or erased, or object to its use. One e-mail is enough, and I answer within the month. If you feel I do not handle your data properly, you can file a complaint with the Belgian Data Protection Authority, Drukpersstraat 35, 1000 Brussels.
